Hey everyone! Today, we’re diving deep into the world of Etsy ads. If you’ve ever thought about making passive income online, you’ve probably considered Etsy as an option. But are the ads worth it? Keep reading to find out.
My First Attempt at Etsy Ads
Okay, so picture this: I started with just about 5 products in my Etsy store. Took a deep breath and dropped $100 on ads. The result? A meager $40 in sales. Ouch, right? But hold on, it’s not as bad as it looks. Those were my FIRST sales, and hey, you gotta start somewhere.
Round Two: Persistence Pays Off
Not one to back down, I gave it another go in the next couple of months. Lost some more cash, but this time it was just 20 bucks. It wasn’t great, but it was progress. I took this as a cosmic sign from the eCommerce gods and decided to crank up my budget.
The Turnaround: Making Profit
Then, the skies cleared and the angels sang—I was making more than I was spending! That, my friends, is what we call a WIN. So I rode that wave and kept my ad game strong for a few more months.
Major Realizations
Then, two things hit me
70% of my traffic was all me—thanks to social media and SEO.
Most of my ad sales were offsite – i.e coming from sites that were not Etsy!
My New Strategy: Smart Spending
Decided to focus my ad spend on listings that were already hits – my best products that sold even without Ads!. Because a killer product sells itself, right? Marketing just helps get it in front of more eyes.
